Unlike important brands, BlueScope is required to meet strict Australian standards, for safety, durability and longevity. Their powder-coated steel has a unique anti-corrosion base and is specifically engineered with the Australian weather in mind.
According to the Fraser Coas Regional Council, sheds and garages require building approval whether the property owner or a professional builder carries out the work. This also applies to additions and extensions such as patios and carports.
Thankfully, Will Baker Sheds is highly experienced in receiving council approval and can help you through the process.
If your structure is out in the open, the rain will do most of the cleaning. However, for regular maintenance in areas the rain doesn’t get to, you can follow these steps:
- Wash the surface with a mild soap, such as sugar soap, applied with a sponge, rag or soft brush
- Rinse immediately after with clean water to prevent the detergents causing shiny spots
- Don’t use abrasive materials—steel wool, brooms or scourers—as these can damage the powder-coated steel
Yes, you can! Make sure to clean the surface and hose it down before painting. If the surface is new and smooth, some light sanding may be required to improve paint adhesion. We recommend using two coats of water-based exterior acrylic.
Please note painting over may void warranties on BlueScope steel.
